Not my Local Yarn Stores

I am visiting my sister outside Boston. I brought three projects. 1) Clapotis, the project that never ends but is very soothing if you are, say, on a long train journey 2) the Besotted Scarf which is also very soothing but much smaller, which I am knitting on some nice tweedy yarn I got when my friend Marylen was reducing her stash 3)my first attempt at knitting two socks on two circular needles. It has been driving me crazy but I think I have finally got a good start... although I am a bit worried that when I wake up in the a.m. I will have lost track of which nedle to knit on next. All but Clapotis are on Addi Turbos so I am packing them and working on Clapotis on the train.
But during my stay I have visited two yarn shops. The first is In Stitches in Weston MA, a lovely shop which has needlepoint and knitting yarn, good selection of books, charming staff (who I think are also the owners). But much more wonderful, although much much smaller, is the Iron Horse Farm where they raise llamas and angora goats and various kinds of sheep and sell yarn, some home spun, some mill spun. They also have lovely sewing notions, a lot of felting material, beautiful felted hats and much more. I definitely will go back. You an also buy farm fresh eggs. Chickens are darting about in the parking area and you can see the llamas across the farm yard, recently sheared and looking a little like standard poodles with hair on their legs but not on their backs. I wish I lived nearer so I could take some of their felting courses.
