Finished Work I

Dear Mo,

I have not been blogging much but I have been knitting quite a bit. I made a very simple lacy scarf out of a wonderful variegated yarn, although I think this may be an example of the wrong yarn and the wrong pattern worked together. The yarn was a lovely and expensive Brown Sheep Handpainted Original, 70% mohair, 30%wool. I can no longer remember for sure but I think the color was Mountain Majesty. You can see these yarns here. I made this after completely failing to do Branching Out from Knitty which you did so beautifully and seemingly effortlessly but have not yet blogged about. This pattern is a much easier pattern of knits and yarn overs in a kind of wavy pattern from the Mielke Fiber Farm website where it is called Old Shale Scarf. Anyway, the scarf is pictured above, both as a whole and close up. You can tell that I have not yet perfected the art of photographing my finished work.

On the right is a picture of the Lion Brand Cotton Hobo Bag which I made to use for a knitting bag. Anna is modelling it, since she is a lot cuter than I am.

The pattern is on the Lion Brand Website here.

The name of the variegated blue yarn (which is less turquoise in real life than it appears in this picture) is Wedgewood.

I am working on another Lion Brand tote bag, too. About which I will post more later.

xxoo
